This nonprofit software company develops open-source applications and has been supported at various times by Edward Snowden. Pasting from Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Preview all work as expected.Signal is an instant messaging app developed by Open Whisper Systems. I made this change locally and it seems to work great. Obviously I don't know the context for this change in the release branch, but it seems better to just process any item we can convert into a File object. They can't be converted to files, so the whole callback just exits unproductively. But the others have types like text/plain and text/html, and they come before the image in the list. One is an image/png-this is the one we want to attach. Pasting from Firefox or Safari produces multiple DataTransferItems of various types. In this case, it just attaches the image the way we expect. Pasting from Preview produces a single DataTransferItem with type image/png (in my case, I pasted a PNG image). If not all DataTransferItems have a type containing 'image' or 'video', then the callback attaches only the first item in the list-if getAsFile can convert it into a File object. The problem seems to be in ConversationView, specifically the onPaste callback.
